With the City now charging over $500 in fees to close a street to hold the same Block Party we held in the Spring of 2025, Nelmar Terrace returned to having their Spring Picnic instead.   Jim & Celeste Carr hosted it in their lovely big side yard on Sunday, May 3.  Several neighbors brought their grills so we could have a cookout.  Everyone brought a side dish and something to grill.  The Nelmar Terrace Neighborhood Association provided hot dogs, buns, chips, condiments, drinks, and paper goods.  While planned for Saturday, May 2, we wisely had Sunday as a back up “Rain Date.”  On Sunday the weather was beautiful and the picnic was well attended.  It was a great chance for old neighbors to get together as well as a wonderful opportunity to welcome and meet new neighbors. We hope to make this Spring Picnic an annual event, since everyone enjoyed it so much.
